I See the Light!

Wow, I FINALLY have a start date for my new/real job, October 15th! I cannot tell you how ready I am to begin this job and actually feel like I have a reason to go to work. I know the blog has been a total moan fest about my current position, but I would like to share the positive things about being a temp. Being paid on an hourly basis is really a great thing when you have a million things going on in your personal life. If I need to leave work for some reason, it is my problem...I just won't get paid. So far I have yet to work an entire 45 hour work week. I leave early at least 2 days a week and probably miss an entire day every other week. Between moving and babies being born, I have really enjoyed the flexibility. I have also become rather good at Mahjong...the tile matching game. I can play it for 8 hours straight if you let me. Those guys and Halo 3 have nothing on me :) The down side is that I think it is damaging my vision...hmmm maybe I will get that checked if I ever get insurance!

Oktoberfest- The weekend plans for the lake house and Oktoberfest were a success...sorta. Friday night Brandon, Kelly, Dylan, and I all packed up the honda and made the two hour drive to our lake house. The car ride was exciting listening to rap and a stop at the largest Wal-mart east of the Mississippi. The people you see at this place are indescribable. Meth-heads that have come out of the mountains for their monthly supply of sudafed is the only thing I can think of. The plan for Friday night was to have a few drinks and get to bed early so that we could go to Helen the next day. This did not work out in the least. A night of drunken debauchery came to a climax when my butt went through the glass coffee table and I spent the next two hours over the toilet. Saturday was not a pretty sight. We finally made it to Helen at 5 pm after a horrid back-roads car ride. I was thinking that I would try and rally by drinking a beer, but two sips and I had flashbacks of the night before. We were a pathetic bunch when we got home and in bed around midnight. Sunday was a little better, when Tim (Dylan's roommate) came up with his jet ski and his dogs. All in all we had a fun time and I am really looking forward to the next installment (minus the table incident).

Oh Baby- Christian Michael Nicula made his debut at 1:25 pm on October 2nd. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and measuring 21 1/2 inches long (a big healthy boy)! Mom and baby are doing well and he is just the cutest little thing. I went last night to help mom and dad adjust to having the baby at home. What cute parents they are. Jessica has had so much experience with babies that she knows just what to do. I am so thankful that by the time I push a kid out, I will have so many mommies to help me! If you would like to see more pics, follow the link to the Nicula family on my page.

Weekend Review

When I look back on my weekend I feel like it was uneventful, but I really got a lot done. Friday, I was exhausted and fell asleep at 9:30. I have not been sleeping well, so this was a good thing. Of course I tossed and turned all night and still didn't sleep well. I know that my bed is super comfy and I was not hot, so I don't know what my problem was. I woke up around 10 on Saturday. I ate breakfast and farted around the house til about 1 when I decided to get off my butt and run some errands. I finally bought lamps for our living room and some random stuff for my room and bathroom. I also did some grocery shopping for the week to come. Wow, I am so exciting. Ginny came over and we tried to install my shoe shelves...what a disaster. I broke two shelves with my brute force ;) We gave up and went to Figo for some yummy pasta. After Ginny left, Dylan came over and we watched the end of the GA game...go dawgs...and went to Red Door. Sunday, I got to visit with baby Raeghan while mommy and daddy were coming home from the game. I held the little angel for two hours. I rocked her, changed her, fed her, and even burped her. I know that burping a baby is not a big feet, but I am always so scared to do it. I just hate "hitting" them like that. She is the sweetest baby!

End of My Rope

Yet another day w/o anything to do at work. I am sure those of you who are swamped at work are very annoyed with me for saying this. But, I would really rather be busy than bored out of my mind. I spent the 1st hour of work paying bills and organizing the personal crap I lug to work everyday. I was feeling pretty productive and the hour flew by. And that was the only time I have been in a good mood all day. I even thought to bring a book today to keep myself occupied. I read for about an hour, but I was so uncomfortable and felt like I was back in high school. I hated silent reading in those school desks. I need to be curled up under a blanket while reading. I ate my leftovers from the other night for lunch. I guess I should have gone out to eat just to get out of the office, but I wanted to save money. I wish they would cut back my hours and I could be here from 10-3 or something. The phones have been super dead today, so I didn't even have those to keep me busy. I did get to listen to my friend Christine on Star 94 talk about Nutrition and Sleep. She is always so nervous before she goes on, but she always does a great job. This weekend should be pretty lonely since Kelly will be in Athens for her sister's wedding. I have plans and things to keep myself busy, but the house will be quiet without her.

Day Off

Okay, no post yesterday since I did not go into work and I have been too lazy and cheap to set up internet at home. With my whole day off, I took care of quite a few things I have been meaning to do. I met with my future co-worker for breakfast and talked about all of the things she has been doing and the things I will be doing over the next few weeks when I start working mid-October. I think I am going to be very busy, which will be a welcomed change. I ran a few errands for a while, then took my car into the shop. My door handle broke, so for the past two weeks I have been rolling down my window to let myself out. It was extremely embarrassing not to mention very ghetto. While my car was being worked on, I hung out with Jessica. Still no baby yet. Hopefully this weekend little Christian will show up. We picked up my car and Jessica came over to see my new home. After that, the Direct TV guy came and fixed the dish...yay! Kelly, Brandon, Dylan, Tim, his friend, and me all went to the Braves game last night. We had the best seats right behind homeplate and it was the perfect weather. The Braves won 4 to 3 against the Marlins!

Monday Schmonday

Back to the "grindstone" aka checking e-mail 40 bijillion times a day. My boss was MIA this morning, but he finally called and said he would not be in until after lunch. Hmmmm, do you think if I went missing like that, it would be okay? Maybe I could just crawl under my desk and take a nap.

Yesterday was so beautiful! Temps below 75 degrees always get me excited about fall. I can't wait to bust out those sweaters. I got home from my parent's around noon and proceeded to fling open every window in our house. The breeze felt so great and it was nice to air the house out. I already feel like my cold is getting better. Yesterday was pretty much the only day that I milled around the house this weekend.

Friday, after surviving my hangover at work, we went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner...YUMMY. Kelly, Brandon, Dylan, Tim (Dylan's roommate), and I all went to Hand-in-Hand to meet up with some people and to of course drink. I was DD, so only one Red Bull and Vodka for this little girl. I was tired, but I still had a really great time. Saturday morning I did more before 11 am than I do in most Saturdays. I woke up at 8:30, went to the grocery store, picked up the dogs I was taking care of, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned two bathrooms, and straightened up the living room and my room (including dusting). I did all of this because Dayana was coming over for brunch at 11. Belgian waffles, eggs, and yummy juice were on the menu along with lots of girl talk and catching up. Ever since the move, I have not seen much of Dayana as we are both busy. To reward myself for the productive morning, I took about a 2 hour nap! Wow, I guess two nights in a row of less than 7 hours of sleep total will do that to you. Jenny Brockman's b-day party was at 8:30, so I pulled myself together and made it in time for the surprise.

Even with all that sleep I still feel tired. I guess it is due to the fact that I was paranoid about a window being open last night. I opened a window in our living room yesterday and could not physically close it at bedtime. I mean I pulled and pushed on this thing and it was not budging. I even stood up on the back of the couch and tried to put all of my body weight on the thing and it still would not close. I had no choice but to leave it open. Every noise I heard freaked me out. My bedroom window was also open and is directly above the living room, so I figured that if anyone tried to break in...I would hear it, run into Kelly's room, lock the door, and call 911. I don't know what nocturnal animal lives outside my house, but it was outside my window all night making noise and freaking me out. I think the neighbors were painting or packing, cause it sounded like they were ripping tape. They had been doing this all day, but at 1 am it sounded like someone cutting my window screen with a huge knife that they would use to probably kill me! I was bound and determined not to go to work until it was closed. I am pleased to report that I did (after much work) get the window closed this morning.

Save Me

Another boring day at work with nothing to do. I am hungover and exhausted. I guess that is what cheap wine and staying up 'til 2 am will do to you. I have nothing more to say. Hopefully my weekend will be much more fun than this week has been.

Why

Why do they need me to sit here and answer the phones from 9-6, when the phone only rings MAYBE 10 times all day? If they want to pay me to check my e-mail, then fine. On another note, I got my True Office Confession posted today. See if you can guess which one was mine. I posted around 2:55. And, no it is not the one about free ballin'...gross!

Yadda Yadda Yadda

Another day at work with NOTHING to do. I hate this. My boss is back today, but has not given me anything to do yet. I spend my day checking my e-mail every 5 minutes, playing on MySpace and Facebook, and reading True Office Confessions .com. If you have never visited this lovely site, then you are seriously missing out. People can post anonymously their thoughts and feelings about their job and the people they work with. There are some pretty pissed off people out there. I also had no idea how many people are fantasizing about their co-workers. I guess I have just not worked with any attractive people. I found this site while reading another site Passive Aggressive Notes .com. People post notes from their roommates, coworkers, or other pissed off people. More aggressive usually than passive aggressive though. So funny what people get all worked up about and don't have the nerve to say it to someone's face. My favs are the roommate notes. They are normally about a mess in the house, eating eachother's food, or random people being there. We have all been there at one time or another. Wow, so glad I have a normal roommate! I am sure I will post twice today, so this is all for now!

Shame-Shame

I have been so bad about posting since I moved. I guess this is due to the fact we don't have internet yet. I am holding off since my new job is going to give me a computer. I can get on at work, but last week was pretty crazy since we had to submit a huge proposal to FedEx. I have not had time to even think about blogging.

The new place is fabulous! Things are coming along really well. Kelly and I have been getting along just like we did in Italy. Even with both of us being under the weather, we have managed to remain sweet. Speaking of, I cannot seem to shake this cough I have had for a week now. I think our vents need to be cleaned out or something. I don't feel bad, but I sound pretty bad. I guess there is really nothing to do except take Mucinex when you don't have insurance.

The weekend of the move was one of the busiest weekends I have had in a long time. I started moving in on Thursday, I closed on the house on Friday at 11:00, the furniture people delivered everything at 12:30, and we both moved in all day Friday and Saturday. I finally took a break Saturday night for some drinking at Hand-n-Hand with Kelly, her boyfriend Brandon, and his friend Dylan (pronounced Die-lan). The next morning I had to be in Marietta to do Leigh Cofer-Smith's makeup for her wedding. I can't begin to tell you how beautiful she looked. They were married outdoors at Zion Farms, just outside of Rome. The ceremony was beautiful apart from the photographer stalking the couple in the bushes like a paparazzi. She came out with all sorts of flora all over her...I had a hard time containing my laughter :) The reception was inside due to the fact that it "looked" like it might rain earlier in the day. Leigh and Jay did a great job picking out the food: ribs, slaw, potato salad, beans, and last but not least CHEESE GRITS!!! Best food ever at a wedding, in my opinion. Monday we continued moving and ran a billion errands. I found a 26 inch flat screen on sale at Brand Smart for $380.00! Wooowhooo for Labor Day sales. Monday night we felt like it was time to celebrate Labor Day and cook out. The four of us that went out Friday got together. The boys cooked while Kelly kicked my ass on the Wii. Hey, cut me some slack. I have only played it 5 times at most.

The best thing that happened this past weekend was Raeghan Layne Fleming being born on Friday! She is so beautiful and such a good baby. I can't believe Erin and Drew are parents! I am sure that I will have a million pics to put up over the next few weeks. I also met my friend Christine's boyfriend/future husband for the first time. I have never seen her happier or with someone who understands and treats her as well as Keith. I am very excited for them. I am predicting they will be married in spring 2008 and have their first child winter 2009. I am saying it first folks! It is also official that I am now an LSU fan. I don't really have a choice living with Kelly and basically Brandon. I will say that I am partial to their colors, since I used them to teach Complementary Colors to my art students. Kelly and I went to Rio Grande to watch the game with the other LSU Alums. What a blow out! I guess Rio Grande will be seeing a lot more of me than they usually would with just their kick ass drink specials. Alright, this is all I have in me for now. And sorry about the lack of pics, but I am on my work computer.

Cha Cha Changes...

Worker Bee

I cannot believe is has been twenty days since my last post! A lot has been happening and I guess time got away from me. I started doing temp work for the man I am buying my home from. His assistant has cancer and they are unsure of her return date. I have an unofficial job offer from the other job I interviewed for with Marc! My start date would not be until October. The Lord has really blessed me this month. Just a few weeks ago I was worried because I did not have any house sitting or babysitting jobs lined up and I had not heard anything about the job with Marc. Then, Joe's wife Kim and I talk and she mentioned that he was interested in talking to me about a temp position. After being fired in June, July was a really rough month for me financially as well as emotionally and mentally. I feel like things are finally looking up!

Home Front

We are still closing on FRIDAY!!! A few weeks ago I bought a my bedroom furniture as well as living room furniture. It felt so great to go into the store all by myself and pick out whatever I wanted. I am so excited to see it all set up in my house. Still have not started packing. I know this sounds crazy, but all I am really moving are my clothes and personal items. I am planning on getting rid of half my clothes and shoes so that I don't have to move them. Plus most of my stuff from old apartments (dishes etc) are still boxed. I guess I should start rummaging through the enormous amount of crap in our garage to find some of that stuff :)

I know this has been boring, but it is hard to be funny when you have to catch up on so many days worth of happenings.

Weekend Update

Friday was a day of running around and girl time. Kelly and I went to Fabric and Fringe to buy fabric for the purses we are making. Like kids in a candy store, we were in there for at least an hour. We went back to Kelly's for dinner and to start making the purses. It was a little harder than we thought it was going to be. We were very tired, so we did not get very far.

Saturday I had a baby shower to attend for Jessica Nicula. The shower was very nice with all your typical fattening shower food. We played the guess the baby food and candy bar dirty diaper games. I won the first one, but I tied for the second game. I could not identify the Butterfinger in diaper #3, but in my defense I never eat them. Jessica looked beautiful and scored with some really great gifts. Dayana and I ate dinner in the oppressive heat at Neighbors. We met Kelly there and then bar hopped. I could not stop sweating and was miserable, so we went home early. I can't possibly try to flirt when I am wiping my upper lip sweat every 10 seconds.

Sunday it was church and Sweet Tomatoes with Erin and Drew. There were three other pregnant girls there. Pretty funny that all the prego people are like flies to honey at a buffet. I went over to Ginny and Darren's for some girl time and ended up staying for the yummy casserole Ginny whipped up. I got a call from my realtor to tell me the sellers had accepted my offer and were signing the contract! YAY!!! I cannot believe that I will be moving in less than a month. I am going over there tonight to look at some of the furniture to see if I want to buy any.

Justified!

Yesterday was another busy day for me. I woke up early to drop off my thank you note from my interview yesterday. Since I was already out I stopped by to visit my grandma. She is the cutest thing ever. She says she is tired and the doctors think it is because she is depressed. That could be the case, but could it just be because she is 85? I met my dad and Strom at the townhouse so my dad could check everything out. My dad loved it and I am making an offer today! I can't believe I could be in my own house by the 1st of September. The house is in Sandy Springs off Roswell Road just north of Abernathy. It is a great location for working pretty much anywhere in the city.

You would think this was the highlight of my day, but something even better happened. My recruiter called and said the 4 people that were hired after I was fired from my job...were ALL fired yesterday! I feel bad 4 people are looking for a job now, but I had to laugh. I told everyone my old boss was unstable and I know everyone was supportive of me, but I was never quite sure if they believed how horrible this man was. I have proof now that it was NOT me in any way. Who fires their entire marketing department in one day??? What a freak-a-leak!

I spent the afternoon running errands and looking for furniture for my new place. I had dinner with my old roomie Lisa and then went to Chair Dancing at Pole la Teaz. The chair class was much harder than the pole class. It was all about abs, butt, and thighs. I was sweating like a man as usual. They encourage you to play with your hair and "get in touch with your curves," so I was trying to figure out a way to wipe the sweat off my face and make it look sexy at the same time. Not too successful with that one ;)

Oops!

I thought that I blogged yesterday, but I guess not. Yesterday was pretty boring, so I guess you should be glad I did not write anything. Today was super packed starting with my interview at 9:30 am. Just your typical interview where they ask a bunch of questions about your strengths and weaknesses, how you handle stress and difficult people. Blah, blah, blah. It went well and he said that I was a really strong candidate. I had lunch with my recruiter, who confirmed what he said. I had a doctor's appointment after lunch, nothing big to mention there.
Of course I checked the mail when I got home and what did my eyes see? A FedEx box with my name on it. I was so excited about the return address I saw...The Chipmunks Store. Who remembers coming home from school and watching Alvin, Simon, and Theodore? I also really enjoyed their movie, The Chipmunk Adventure. This is the one where the Chipmunks and the Chipetts race around the world in hot air balloons while unaware they are working for diamond smugglers. I find it funny that I thought the villan Claudia was so fabulous in her giant shoulder pads when I was little. The absent minded Ms. Miller is one of my favorite animated characters of all time. Oh, how I loved this movie! My version was eaten by the VCR years ago and I finally found it on DVD last week. I watched it immediately and sang along to every high pitched cover song from the 80's. Apparently they are coming out with a new movie this Christmas starring Jason Lee from My Name is Earl. Not sure how I feel about the computer animated and live action combo, but we will see.

Watch out Carmen Electra!

I started off my day hanging out with Jessica. She is nearing the end of her 7th month. Can't believe baby Christian we be here so soon. We went to lunch and then ran errands together. I told her that she could be a guest blogger, so you might be hearing from her soon. I also went through all of the fabrics I found for making the purses Kelly and I plan on sewing and selling. More info to come soon:)

Taken at the first class!

Kelly came over after work and we went to Walmart with Nancy and then...went POLE DANCING!!! It was our second class, and was more fun than the first. Last time we learned a few moves including the "fireman spin." This is your basic spin that can be added to later. Today we started with some stretching which tends to be like a sexy yoga class. Then we worked on our stripper walk and moving around the pole while "stirring the pot", which is like booty dancing with the pole. Next we practiced our fireman spins. The first time I messed up, but I tried again and it all came back to me. I finally felt comfortable with the spin and really started to enjoy myself. We put everything together into a routine at the end of class. When I look at myself in the mirror during class, I feel I look like and idiot. When I don't watch myself and just let go, I have a great time and sometimes even feel a little sexy (despite my giant rear end). I cannot wait til Thursday when I will be taking a chair dancing class. If you would like to join me, here is the website http://www.polelateaz.com/

Open classes are $15 and are usually Mondays and Thursdays. The room is dark with only 1 candle type light. There is no reason to feel embarrassed or shy. Besides if my clumsy self can do it, then anyone can.

T.G.I.F.

Pretty uneventful day here in Laura-land. I had a phone interview for the job I am trying to score. It went well and she said that I would be getting a glowing recommendation. I have the real interview on Wednesday...wish me luck!

I babysat from 9:15 til 4:00. I know this does not sound like a very long time, but it goes by so slowly with an 18 month old that is not talking yet. And of course the parents we there. I freakin hate babysitting when the parents are there. And these are the parents who poo poo on watching tv. Not that I would actually make the kid watch tv instead of playing with him, but I would like to watch some morning trash while fixing his snack.

I met Kelly for shopping after work. We had some serious fun playing with all the stuff at Brookstone. We both tried the greatest foot massage thingy I have ever seen. I really had a hard time getting out of it. I think that they should offer them at the nail salon while you are waiting.
I sat down in the $2000 massage chair and I am of course swiftly joined by the employee in charge of watching the chair. "Are you in the market for a massage chair?" What do you say to this? It is obvious that I am not and I just want to sit in a chair after work and relax. He says that he can only give me about a 5 minute demonstration. I am fine with this and so the demo commences. He is going over his sales pitch and telling me how I can have this chair for only $85 a month for 2 years. I try to sound impressed, but really I am thinking, "Go away and shut up so I can pretend I am in a spa somewhere near the beach and not in the middle of Lenox."

Fleas Bite

I am sad because even though I gave Francis a flea bath, she has fleas. It was almost as if the flea shampoo did the opposite. I finally went to the vet and bought her some medication for the fleas. It sorta helped, but I found two more on her today. I still did not get much sleep over the past few nights. I tried some ear plugs which worked okay. My family is home, so she is their problem now.

I went to Six Flags yesterday...oh the joys of not having a job. My new favorite ride is Super Man Ultimate Flight. I know that it is not new, but it was my first time. Even though it was a billion degrees outside and I was sweating through my "sweat absorbent" sports bra, I had a great day. But would someone please tell me why they can't get some freakin canopy/cover thingy over the lines. You pay $50 to get in just to risk having a heat stroke! It was funny to me that in two of the lines, they had canopies over the beginning of the line and the end, but not the middle. Hmmmm, now don't you think that you should have a canopy over the middle before the beginning? I mean, those people just got in the line...they are not as hot as the people that have been there for 30 minutes. I guess a fan would be WAY too much to ask. Actually they do have fans at the top of Goliath right before you get on. But, this is one of the rides that had the canopy at the beginning and not the middle. Oh and remember how you would hop through the car to the put your bag in that little cubby only to retrieve when your thrill ride was over? Well, you are no longer allowed to do this. You have to pay $2 before you get in line for a locker. You must do this for Goliath, Scorcher, and Cyclone. Sing it with me...One of these things is not like the others...Okay enough of that. Still have not been on Deja Vu since it is always broken. Does this alarm anyone else? I am happy to report that the Mindbender is still as fabulous as ever. You just can't get any safer than the 18 inch lap bar!

No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn

I know it has been a while since I last posted, but this weekend was packed and something was wrong with the internet here. Friday, I went out with the girls to Sparkles. Yes...the skating rink. I had no idea so many middle school kids still hang out there. We decided to dress in 80's attire and I soon as I get the pics from Lauren Sherman Ware, I will post them. They should be pretty funny. None of the kids seemed to get it, but the parentals seemed to enjoy our outfits. The last time I went skating three years ago, I broke my arm. because of this I had a hard time getting into my skating groove. At least I didn't fall! Saturday I had an engagement party for Katie Watson to attend. It was great to see her for the first time in two years. Her fiance is very nice and they looked very happy. Good food catered by Williamson Brother's BBQ. Yesterday I went to a couples shower for Leigh Cofer and her man Jay Smith. It was very nice and again...good food and good drinks. I am all weddinged out! Now let the baby showers commence :) Jessica Nicula's is in a few weekends. This is Jessica and her hubby Chris standing in front of a pic of her lips. And a pic of Jessica about 5 1/2 months into the pregnancy.

Now the reason why I did not get any sleep last night: The DANG dog! She is a cute one, but apparently has a bit of an allergy problem. She proceeded to scratch and bite (loudly) ALL night. I finally kicked her out of the room at 5 am. I thought this would be the end of it, but noooooo. She sat outside the door and barked a few times. Then the barks were closer together in time followed by the howling. I couldn't deal with it so I let her back in. She sat on the floor and continued her allergy scratch/bite fest. When I finally started to doze off, she apparently decided she wanted on the bed. The bed is low to the ground and easy for her to jump onto, but for some reason she thought she needed to stand next to my head and whine profusely until I picked her up and put her on the bed. Things started back up at 8:30 which I was fine with since I needed to let her out and feed her. I was planning on going back to sleep, but she had other plans. I closed her out of my room thinking that now since it was morning she would find something else to do rather than howl outside my room. Boy was I wrong. I finally found some Benadryl and doped her up. She is currently laying on my foot snoring. Of course I am no longer tired...go figure! This is a pic of my friends dog, Pooh (left) and Francis at Christmas. Don't let her fool you with those sweet eyes...she is trouble;)

J.O.B.

I met with my head-hunter yesterday for lunch at PF Changs. She has a really great opportunity in store for me, but it will not be until September. Looks like I will be broke as a joke til then. At least house sitting puts food on the table and vodka in the glass. Good thing that I don't drink Red Bull and Vodka, otherwise I would not be able to drink :) $8 for a drink is outrageous! My head-hunter also said that three of the four people hired after I was terminated for "unprofessional behavior" HATE working for my psycho-bipolar ex boss! If you see this unstable little man on the street...RUN!!!

For those of you who remember my old boss Steve from Ooh-la-la-beaute, he and his partner Jon broke up. I went yesterday to get my eyebrows waxed and he told me. I was very shocked be cause they were together for 6 years. Not really sure what happened since I didn't feel like it was my place to ask details. He seemed okay though while he was dancing around the salon and singing to some random disco song. Was that stereotyping?

Home Slice: Kelly got a job in Roswell teaching elementary music. This is really exciting since she was offered a job in the bowels of Atlanta aka Union City, GA. If she had taken that job, then us living together would have been difficult seeing as how she would be driving an hour to work both ways. I am so relieved at how things have worked out. I think that we are going to look at townhouses on Monday with Strom Thurmond my realtor. Yes, he is related to THE Strom Thurmond...a great-nephew or something. I don't think they look alike except the balding pattern. The younger Strom definitely lucked out in the nose department:)

Word Up, Duluth!

Woke up this morning at 5:00 to take my uncle and cousins to the airport. Not a big deal since there was zero traffic coming home. I finished the book "The Red Tent." Here is the summary from Amazon: Her name is Dinah. In the Bible, her life is only hinted at in a brief and violent detour within the more familiar chapters of the Book of Genesis that are about her father, Jacob, and his dozen sons. Told in Dinah's voice, this novel reveals the traditions and turmoils of ancient womanhood— the world of the red tent. It begins with the story of her mothers— Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah— the four wives of Jacob. They love Dinah and give her gifts that sustain her through a hard-working youth, a calling to midwifery, and a new home in a foreign land. Dinah's story reaches out from a remarkable period of early history and creates an intimate connection with the past. Deeply affecting, "The Red Tent" combines rich storytelling with a valuable achievement in modern fiction: a new view of biblical women's society. This is a book that took me by complete surprise and I would recommend it especially to someone who enjoys history.

It seems they finally have something to put Ron Mexico aka Michael Vick in jail. Am I the only one that is happy about this? I hope not! On the dedicated, determined, and dependable Fox 5 news, Vick said "It don't matter what I do, people are still going to love me." That may not be word for word, but you get the idea. Throw his arrogant butt in jail!!! Hopefully he will not get away with it like he did with the water bottle/pot thing. I am sure that Falcon's football can recover.

Every summer I look forward to Big Brother. This year the pretty people out number the older/less attractive people...so ground breaking for reality tv! The twist is that 6 people in the house have to live with someone that they consider an enemy in their real life. This is also the first year that one of the players is considered "America's Player." Eric was the poor guy chosen for this and basically gets America's opinion on who we want out and things like that. I am continuously amazed at how awful some people are in this world. Players always claim that this is just a game and that they are really nice in their real lives. Some of them I believe that they are in it to win no matter what it takes. Other people like this biotch below are disgusting no matter how pretty they are on the outside. I truly believe she is a horrible person and would never leave my kids with her. She is self obsessed and has complete disregard for other people. If you missed "Best Week Ever" this past weekend, then you missed the clip of this psycho crying over the picture of her chosen for the house wall. In the confessional she was still crying about how ugly her picture was and how this is the image that everyone in the country is going to see. Hello...you are making the ugly-face-cry on national television. Maybe you should worry about that instead of a stupid picture that was not bad to begin with. Cannot wait to see her butt kicked off the show. On another note, I am really upset that there is not another washed up band looking for a new lead singer. I no longer have Rock Star as a guilty pleasure this summer :(

Kit Kat Blizzard

I have decided that I will no longer partake of the candy filled blizzards from Dairy Queen. Reason being that when you take a bite of the candy your teeth freeze due to the ice cream. This is not to say that I will not still enjoy a nice cookies and cream blizzard. Maybe I will even venture out to try the strawberry cheesecake blizzard next time.
Other than that I spent my day at the doctor's office (which went well) and I got a new prescription. Hopefully it will help a lot more than my current prescription. I also went to Target and Babies R Us to get shower gifts. By the way, this is quite a normal occurrence in my life. Target is such a trap. There are so many Targets that you cannot escape them. I love all of the products, but you cannot get out without spending less than $40.00. Even if I have something specific to buy, I find myself in the accessories department. Of course it is strategically placed at the front of the store. How many pairs of sunglasses do I really need? Heaven forbid if I actually had a house; I would never leave! I cannot wait to get engaged and just shoot that laser gun at anything and everything. I would probably register for gum if people would buy it for me.
Anyhoo, I am house sitting in Duluth for my Aunt Cindy 'til the 26th. I am sure I will have plenty of time to blog considering that no one will drive all the way out here to see me.

Cootie Queen v. Lint Licker

Decided to start a blog because I enjoy writing in my journal and I wanted another place to waist time on the internet. Why Red Journal? Because I have only written in a red journal for the past 6 years. I am not sure how this is going to go, since I have only blogged on myspace maybe 4 times in the past year. Hopefully I will stay on top of this a little better. I have been journaling since I read Bridget Jones' Diary. However my journal is nothing anyone would want to read since I usually just bitch and moan about random crap instead of writing anything worth while. I tend to write when I am bored and ramble on and on about pointless observations. I think that the act of writing is more therapeutic than the words I write.

Not much going on in my life right now, except looking for a job. As soon as I am financially stable, then I will be buying a house. Hopefully I will be living with Kelly, my roommate from Italy. She is super great and a wonderful friend. I have been house sitting a lot lately. Maybe there will be some funny stories to come out of it.

This is a hilarious Orbit commercial about a love triangle confrontation w/o the use of foul language. Hence the slogan "Dirty mouth? Clean it up!" Here is the link for your viewing pleasure... http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=11554487
