Better

I am feeling much better these days! I am having very little acid reflux and hardly any stomach pain/problems. There have only been a few days where I got upset and I got sick :(

I had a great time at the beach (Anna Maria Island, FL) with my family mid-june. We saw a ton of manatee, and should have as we were in Manatee County Florida. I also saw 4 dolphin about 20 feet from me while kayaking. One even did a flip in front of me! It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I also saw a wedding party when I was down there and it got me thinking. Although I would never get married on the beach due to my control issues, I would love to have a bachelorette party weekend down there. While they are fun, I have never wanted a bachelorette party where we get drunk wearing penis paraphernalia draped around my neck while nasty men hit on me and my friends. I think they should be quality time with your bridesmaids and closest friends. Anna Maria is so quiet and laid back, I think it would be perfect! Hopefully I will get the pics from my cousin and put them up soon. I got a little too much sun, and I am sort of mad at myself for it...but I think I look better with a tan :p
Nothing else much new with me. Still enjoy my job and love living on my own, even though I really miss Kelly!

Still Waiting

I wanted to give a health up date. As of now I am still waiting to get back the results from my blood test. This was for IBS and Celiac. The results from my colonoscopy and upper endoscopy biopsies were negative. They did see some irritation at the beginning of my small intestines. This is usually a sign of acid reflux...did I need a test to tell me this?

I thought I was going to be 26, not 50?!?

This weekend is going to be so busy! Saturday I have the Susan G. Komen 5K, then it is off to Katie Watson's Bachelorette party that night. Should be a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to seeing Katie. Of course Sunday is Mother's Day. I will not be with my mom as she will be at lake house. I am going to spend some time with my Grandma though. On Monday the 12th, I have to go in for a Colonoscopy (something you don't normally have to do until you are 50) and an Upper Endoscopy. I will be knocked out and have heard from my parents that I won't be in any pain after. However, I am not looking forward to the preparation. My parents both had to do this last fall and it was not pretty. I also wont be able to eat anything that is not Jello or broth on Sunday...not fun! Anyway, please pray for me as well as my doctor. I really hope he will be able to find something that will provide me with some answers.

Feelin' Better

I am doing much better thanks to some steroids and stress relieving techniques. No hives for 3 weeks now and counting. WhooWho! Hopefully I can keep my stress under control and they wont return! I have been walking in preparation for the Susan G Komen 5K on May 10th. Speaking of walks, Walk Now for Autism was great despite the rain and half of our office being out of town. Can't wait to raise even more money next year!

Call me "Hivey"

Again, I have strayed too long. I apologize, but things have been pretty hectic and I don't have a computer at my house anymore. I have had hives off and on for the past four months. Not something enjoyable to say the least. Things started right before Christmas and continuously got worse until last week when I showed up at the doctor looking like I was channeling Angelina, but only on one half of my mouth. I don't think it is normal to see your own lip when you look down! I have been seeing allergists and gasteros trying to figure out what could be causing this, but they cannot seem to find anything so far. We are all leaning towards stress as a cause. I don't feel that stressed out, but I guess I am internalizing it all.

Work is actually going really well. I love it and my co-workers rock. I have been so blessed to have a boss and company that have been so understanding with all my doctors visits lately. They are all so sweet and are truly concerned for me. Here is his snazzy head-shot he begged me to put on my facebook page :) He cracks me up!

Kelly is moving out in about a month. It is going to be so lonely without her and Josh! She is going to China for the summer with her boyfriend. He is going to school and she is going to teach English. I think the only hing I miss about a teaching career is having the summer off. When she comes home, she is going to live on her own closer in town. I can see where she is coming from. I love where I live and it is very convenient for me to get to work, but it is a little far for the bar scene.

Too Long

I have been so busy I have not had a mintue in the past 3 months to write anything. So much has been going on...

The job is amazing. We finally moved into our office on the 25th of January! It was a long and stressful road, but I did it. Our office is off Clairmont near Emory.

Things are great with my man, Rob. I missed seeing him on Valentine's Day due to having the flu, but I am going on the 29th up to Phily.

I got the cutest cat ever, named Meredith on October 20th.

Anyway, back to the grindstone of making reservations and ordering office supplies :)

I See the Light!

Wow, I FINALLY have a start date for my new/real job, October 15th! I cannot tell you how ready I am to begin this job and actually feel like I have a reason to go to work. I know the blog has been a total moan fest about my current position, but I would like to share the positive things about being a temp. Being paid on an hourly basis is really a great thing when you have a million things going on in your personal life. If I need to leave work for some reason, it is my problem...I just won't get paid. So far I have yet to work an entire 45 hour work week. I leave early at least 2 days a week and probably miss an entire day every other week. Between moving and babies being born, I have really enjoyed the flexibility. I have also become rather good at Mahjong...the tile matching game. I can play it for 8 hours straight if you let me. Those guys and Halo 3 have nothing on me :) The down side is that I think it is damaging my vision...hmmm maybe I will get that checked if I ever get insurance!

Oktoberfest- The weekend plans for the lake house and Oktoberfest were a success...sorta. Friday night Brandon, Kelly, Dylan, and I all packed up the honda and made the two hour drive to our lake house. The car ride was exciting listening to rap and a stop at the largest Wal-mart east of the Mississippi. The people you see at this place are indescribable. Meth-heads that have come out of the mountains for their monthly supply of sudafed is the only thing I can think of. The plan for Friday night was to have a few drinks and get to bed early so that we could go to Helen the next day. This did not work out in the least. A night of drunken debauchery came to a climax when my butt went through the glass coffee table and I spent the next two hours over the toilet. Saturday was not a pretty sight. We finally made it to Helen at 5 pm after a horrid back-roads car ride. I was thinking that I would try and rally by drinking a beer, but two sips and I had flashbacks of the night before. We were a pathetic bunch when we got home and in bed around midnight. Sunday was a little better, when Tim (Dylan's roommate) came up with his jet ski and his dogs. All in all we had a fun time and I am really looking forward to the next installment (minus the table incident).

Oh Baby- Christian Michael Nicula made his debut at 1:25 pm on October 2nd. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and measuring 21 1/2 inches long (a big healthy boy)! Mom and baby are doing well and he is just the cutest little thing. I went last night to help mom and dad adjust to having the baby at home. What cute parents they are. Jessica has had so much experience with babies that she knows just what to do. I am so thankful that by the time I push a kid out, I will have so many mommies to help me! If you would like to see more pics, follow the link to the Nicula family on my page.
